Prague
So, I'm in Prague. It's an interesting city. It contains a lot of old buildings, a river, some more old buildings, and a lot of cafes, restaurants, and foreign people! It must be one of the only places in the worldwhere English is not commonly known by the locals. I hate being the ignorant foreigner, but who is gonna learn Czech other than the Czechs? Not a lot of people! I've been here several days, we arrived last Tuesday 5th and are leaving in 2 days, Tuesday 12th. I think I've enjoyed myself. I've been extrememly tired due to the incredibly noisy traffic that is very constant outside the bedroom window, and due to the heat of the room. Which is strange because the rest of the time I'm quite cold, but at night I'm boiling! We have done fun stuff, like peddle boats on the river, going to the zoo, going up the funicular railway to a park ontop of a hill. Oh and not quite understanding the ticket system for the trams/metros etc and getting fined today ten quid between the 2 of us. Which isn't bad I guess! Ohwell. It was a time where we could play the ignorant foreigner. If only I spoke a lesser known language than English. So anyway....we almost got caught in a hu-owge storm today, but thankfully reached a sheltered cafe just as the rain and thunder properly started. It lasted a long time! We stayed relatively dry though, which was good. I dont often see rain like that these days. Reminded me on the rainy season in PNG. I think this will do for now. I'm very hungry so I'll go find Michael and I guess we'll go find another restaurant to eat in...this must the only youth hostel in the world that doesn't have a kitchen to cook your own food in. Shame, could've saved some money! Ahwell, tis life. Oh and yeh, before all this happened I did my exams, they went ok. I think. Who knows? I'll jsut have to wait till August 19th (?) to get my results!
